If you would like to contribute food to Blessings in a Backpack of Citrus County, please make sure that it is non-perishable, single-serving, and, that it is safe and easy to open by a child.  Fruit cups, granola bars, Pop-Tarts, cereal, pasta (spaghetti Os, ravioli, ready-to-eat mac and cheese, etc.) tuna, potted meat, soup, crackers and juice are some examples.  Of course, Peanut Butter is appreciated, too! (A regular size jar of peanut butter goes into each backpack every month.)           Please keep in mind that some of these children may not have the luxury of a refrigerator or a microwave, in which to cook these meals.
